Marble bathrooms — cladding, washbasins, shower trays
Marble in the bathroom is not a trend — it is the reason hotel bathrooms look the way they do. Large slabs instead of tiles, few joints, a one-piece vanity top with washbasin, a shower tray without a step. At SKARIS MARBLE we cut all of it at our factory in Thessaloniki, from the same slab, so that the veining “runs” continuously from the wall to the floor.

What we make for the bathroom
- Wall cladding in large-format slabs or 60×30 / 60×60 tiles, with continuous veining (book-match) where the material allows it.
- Floors in the same or a combined material, with 3 mm joints and an anti-slip surface in the shower.
- Vanity tops cut for an under-mount or counter-top basin, or a marble washbasin carved from a solid block.
- One-piece shower trays with drainage fall and channel, 3 cm thick — no joints that turn black.
- Thresholds, sills, shelves, basin backsplashes, mirror frames.
Which marble stands up to moisture
All marbles work in the bathroom if they are sealed. The most common choices in Thessaloniki: Volakas and Dionyssos for white with soft veining, Thassos for pure white, Kavala for an economical off-white, Crema Marfil and Botticino for warm beige. For a dark bathroom: Nero Marquina or Pietra Grey. In the shower we prefer a honed or textured finish so that it does not slip.
Price and quotation
The price depends on the material, the thickness, the cut-outs and the edge finishing — which is why we do not quote a blind “price per metre”. See what determines the price of marble and send us dimensions, a sketch or a drawing through the quote form: we reply with a written, itemised quotation and a delivery time.
Frequently asked questions
Does it need special maintenance? Sealing at installation and renewal every 1–2 years. Cleaning with a neutral cleaner — no bleach, no vinegar.
Can a bathroom be done in marble during a renovation without removing the tiles? In many cases yes, with 1 cm slabs over the existing tiles. We check it on site.
How much weight can the wall take? 2 cm marble weighs about 55 kg/m². On plasterboard it needs reinforcement or 1 cm slabs.
Can you work with my architect / plumber? Every day. We provide cutting drawings and schedule the installation after the plumbing work.
