Marble fireplaces
The fireplace is the part of the living room you look at most — and marble is the material that has always given it presence. From the carved surround of the old type to the single 3-metre slab that dresses the whole wall of an energy-efficient fireplace, we cut them at our factory in Thessaloniki.
What we make
- Fireplace wall cladding in large slabs, with continuous veining (book-match).
- Fireplace surrounds — classic with carving and mouldings, or modern with clean edges.
- Hearths and bases (the floor slab in front of the fireplace) 3–4 cm thick.
- Mantel shelves in one piece, up to 3 m long.
- Cladding of energy-efficient fireplaces and stoves with expansion joints and heat-resistant materials.
Which marble withstands heat
Marble withstands the heat of a fireplace; what wears it is sudden temperature change and soot. For the hearth and the base we prefer hard materials: granite, Nero Marquina, Pietra Grey, Kavala. For the cladding and the surround, whatever suits the room: Dionyssos, Volakas, Calacatta, Emperador, Crema Marfil. On dark materials soot does not show.

The price depends on the material, the thickness, the cut-outs and the edge finishing — which is why we do not quote a blind “price per metre”. Frequently asked questions
Does marble turn black from smoke? Soot cleans off with a neutral cleaner if it is not left for months. On open fireplaces we recommend a dark material for the hearth and a light one for the cladding.
Can marble go over an old brick or stone fireplace? Yes, as long as the surface is stable — a common renovation.
How long does it take? Modern cladding: a few working days from measuring, depending on the material. Carved surround: depending on the design.
Do you work with the installer of the energy-efficient fireplace? Yes — we take the dimensions of the firebox and the safety clearances from the manufacturer.
