-Gaia-
Description & Features
Its name refers to the earth, and indeed Gaia, from the Antique series of Coante’s Essence line, moves in deep earthy tones. The background is a very dark, warm brown bordering on black – reminiscent of roasted coffee – with soft, cloudy variations of tone, while fine, faint light-grey veinlets appear sporadically and are visible only up close; the look stays homogeneous and calm, letting wood, metal or tiles stand out. The slab is made in Muğla, Turkey, with Breton technology from quartz grains, resin and pigments, and according to Coante water absorption is less than 0.07%, chemical resistance is class C4 and flexural strength exceeds 35 MPa; the manufacturer covers its products with a warranty of up to 15 years against manufacturing defects. With slabs up to 330 × 164 cm, which allow long countertops with few joints, it is offered in 15, 20 and 30 mm thicknesses, polished or with a Leather texture. It can be used for kitchen countertops, islands, bathroom vanity tops, wall cladding and tables, sitting equally well in rustic and industrial settings. A damp or microfibre cloth and a neutral cleaner for stubborn stains are enough; hot cookware goes on a trivet and no polishing or protective products are used.
