-Ceppo Beige-

Marble Turkey (most common origin of the trade name)
Ceppo Beige is a brecciated beige-grey limestone, known in the trade as marble, with a soft greige background and dense fragments in taupe, grey-brown and cream. Its lively, mosaic-like texture comes into its own on large surfaces, which makes it particularly suited to interior wall cladding, floors and bathrooms.

Description & Features

Ceppo Beige belongs to the ceppo family of stones, a trade term for rocks made of naturally cemented fragments, and its trade name is linked mainly to quarries in Turkey, while the material is also sold as Ceppo Romano. Geologically it is a calcareous breccia–conglomerate that is marketed as marble. Across the slab, dense angular to rounded fragments of every size – from a few millimetres to several centimetres – in taupe, grey-brown and cream are spread over a light beige-grey (greige) base, with brighter, yellowish zones here and there, so that every slab has its own pattern. Like all calcareous stones, it has a hardness of around 3 on the Mohs scale, is attacked by acids and needs sealing. It is offered polished or honed, as well as with a brushed leather-like texture that brings out the fragments with a soft, matt feel. It shows its character best on large surfaces: wall cladding, floors and stairs, bathrooms and vanity tops, fireplace surrounds and interior furniture. For exterior use in areas with frost, the batch must be checked first. Maintenance only needs neutral cleaners, immediate wiping of acidic liquids and periodic renewal of the sealer.
