Marble Albania
Olive is an Albanian marble with an even light grey colour and a discreet greenish, olive-like undertone, almost free of veining. In its honed finish it creates a calm, velvety surface that suits minimal floors, wall cladding, bathrooms and furniture surfaces.

Description & Features

Olive is imported from Albania and sold as marble – a calcitic stone with a very fine, compact grain. Its defining feature is uniformity: the slab has a steady light-to-mid grey colour with a soft greenish, olive undertone – hence the name – and only minimal, barely visible tonal shifts, with no veins or prominent specks. Depending on the lighting and the batch, the shade reads warmer, towards greige, or cooler, towards grey-green, so for continuous surfaces slabs from the same batch should be chosen. It is supplied in a honed finish that highlights its velvety character and gives a concrete-like look, and on request it can be polished or given an antiqued or brushed texture. The technical values in the table are indicative for carbonate stones of this type rather than test results for this variety. It suits floors and wall cladding in contemporary, minimal settings, bathrooms, stairs, sills and furniture surfaces. Like all calcitic stones it is sensitive to acids and staining, so it needs sealing and cleaning with neutral products; a honed surface needs a little more care against grease than a polished one.
