-Hielo-
Description & Features
Purity and freshness are the two qualities Coante highlights in Hielo, a design from the Antique series of the Essence line, produced at the company's plant in Muğla, Turkey. The surface has an off-white background with a very fine, almost sugary grain, on which short, irregular light-grey veins appear, taking on a slight greenish tint in places and gathering into small clouds rather than forming long lines; the overall effect subtly recalls white marble with gentle movement. Quartz particles, polyester resin and pigments are vibro-compressed on Breton lines into a non-porous slab that needs no sealing; according to Coante's data, water absorption is below 0.07%, hardness is 7 on the Mohs scale and the freeze–thaw resistance coefficient is KMf25 = 0.98. The manufacturer describes it with a glossy white background, but besides the polished version it is also available in a leather finish, in Jumbo (330 × 164 cm) or Medium (310 × 152 cm) slabs and in 15, 20 and 30 mm thicknesses. It is suited to kitchen countertops, islands, bathroom countertops and cladding, splashbacks and interior floors. Cleaning is done with a damp cloth and, for difficult stains, a pH-neutral cleaner; hot cookware always goes on a trivet.
