Quartz Turkey
Origin: Muğla, south-west Turkey – Coante plant
Hygassos is a Coante quartz surface from the Antique series (Essence line): a deep black background scattered with very fine, short white-grey veinlets that resemble a delicate web. It offers striking contrast with the durability and low maintenance of quartz – ideal for kitchen countertops, islands and bathrooms.

Description & Features

Hygassos belongs to the Antique series of the Essence line, through which Coante – a quartz surface producer founded in 2018 in Muğla, Turkey, by the Ermaş marble group – presents its premium quartz. The background is a deep black with a slightly cool tone, across which a dense web of tiny, thread-like white and grey veinlets is evenly spread; from a distance the slab reads as almost solid black, while up close it reveals a fine, lively texture. It is made with Breton technology from quartz grains, polyester resin and pigments that are vibro-compressed, so it is compact and non-porous: Coante states water absorption below 0.07% (class W4), flexural strength above 35 MPa and a Mohs hardness of 7. It is available polished or in a textured Leather finish, in 15, 20 and 30 mm thicknesses and in Jumbo 330 × 164 cm or Medium 310 × 152 cm slabs. It suits kitchen countertops and islands, bathroom vanity tops, wall cladding and splashbacks, in contemporary, traditional or industrial interiors. Cleaning only needs a damp microfibre cloth and, where necessary, a neutral cleaner; hot cookware should always be placed on a trivet.
