-Memorial Grey-
Description & Features
The name Memorial Grey points to memorials, a field where granite is widely used, but its use does not stop there. It is a granite of Egyptian origin with a white to light grey background over which dense, medium-sized black specks are spread, larger and more frequent than in purely white granites; from a distance the surface reads as a lively, speckled grey with strong contrast. Some slabs show rust-coloured streaks or marks in places, so slabs are best selected in person. Polishing emphasises the black-and-white contrast, while honed, flamed or bush-hammered finishes are available on request for a softer or slip-resistant look. The values in the technical table are typical for granite (density of about 2.6–2.7 g/cm³, hardness of 6–7 Mohs, low water absorption), since no published tests were found for this trade variety. Besides memorials, headstones and bases, it suits kitchen countertops, floors, stairs, window sills and cladding. As a silicate rock it is not attacked by common acids; on countertops sealing and cleaning with neutral cleaners are recommended.
Why choose Memorial Grey

- Suitable for memorials, headstones and bases
- Hard granite for indoor and outdoor use

| Country of Origin | Egypt |
| Color & Pattern | White to light grey background with dense medium-sized black specks (strong salt-and-pepper); rust-coloured streaks or marks on some slabs |
| Hardness (Mohs) | ≈6–7 (typical for granite: feldspar ≈6, quartz 7) |
| Density (g/cm³) | ≈2.6–2.7 (typical for granite – no test found for this variety) |
| Water Absorption (%) | ≈0.1–0.5 (typical for granite – no test found for this variety) |
| Compressive Strength (MPa) | ≈130–220 (typical for granite – no test found for this variety) |
| Flexural Strength (MPa) | ≈10–20 (typical for granite – no test found for this variety) |
| Frost Resistance | Generally freeze–thaw resistant, like granites with low water absorption; suitable for memorials and exterior paving, with a flamed or bush-hammered finish on walking surfaces (no test found for this variety) |
| Acid Sensitivity | Resistant – as a silicate rock it is not attacked by common acids (lemon, vinegar, acid rain); no strong acids or descaling cleaners, which dull the polish |
