-Orange Bourbon Gusto-
Description & Features
Volcanic lava cooling into dramatic rock formations: according to Coante, this is the image that inspired Orange Bourbon Gusto from the Gusto series (Essence line). Large, curving bands in a cloudy, almost translucent grey with a cellular, foamy texture unfold across a white background, outlined by fine charcoal lines and copper-orange threads; thinner, branching veins in the same tones run through the white spaces between them, and the contrast of warm and cool hues gives the slab depth and strong movement. It is produced in Muğla, Turkey, on Breton lines from quartz, polyester resin and pigments, and it is non-porous, with water absorption below 0.07%, Mohs hardness 7 and flexural strength above 35 MPa according to Coante. It is available polished or with a leather finish, in Jumbo 330 × 164 cm and Medium 310 × 152 cm slabs, in 15, 20 or 30 mm thicknesses. The manufacturer recommends it as a focal point on kitchen islands, bathroom countertops and wall cladding; because of the large pattern, it is advisable to select the slab and plan the cut so that the bands are shown to best effect. It cleans with a damp cloth, without abrasives, and always needs a trivet under hot cookware.
