-Storia Ultra-
Description & Features
Storia Ultra, from Coante's Ultra series, interprets the dynamic veining of classic Italian marbles. Silver-grey veins of medium width spread over a brilliant white background, braided and fragmented, with lacy clusters and small white islands inside them; they run diagonally in long, almost parallel bands that in places split into two strands and join again. The look is more dramatic than the finely drawn Calacattas of the series, such as Calacatta Vivaldi, but stays clean thanks to the large white areas. Coante, with an annual capacity of about 2 million m² at its Muğla campus, makes it with Breton technology; the material is non-porous, with water absorption below 0.07%, flexural strength above 35 MPa, Mohs hardness 7 and impact resistance above 3.36 J (20 mm thickness). A 20 mm Jumbo slab of 330 × 164 cm weighs about 270 kg; there is also a Medium 310 × 152 cm size and 15 and 30 mm thicknesses, with a polished or leather surface. It is suited to kitchen countertops, islands, bathroom vanity tops and wall cladding, where the bold veins become the centrepiece. It cleans with a damp cloth and a neutral cleaner, without steel wool or abrasive powders, with a trivet under hot cookware.
