-Kaunos-

Quartz Turkey
Origin: Muğla, south-west Turkey – Coante plant
A neutral mid grey, with a fine, pepper-like dark grain and scattered, irregular white veinlets, defines Kaunos, a quartz surface from Coante’s Antique series (Essence line). Calm, contemporary and practical, it suits kitchen and bathroom countertops that need durability and easy care.

Description & Features

Part of the Antique series in Coante’s Essence line, Kaunos offers a grey that is neither cold nor monotonous. The background is a neutral mid grey with a dense, fine dark grain that gives it a sandy texture, and fine white veinlets appear across it at intervals – sometimes single lines, sometimes small lacy clusters – that discreetly break up the uniformity. Coante, founded in 2018 by the Ermaş group and operating a 105,000 m² plant in Muğla with three different quartz production technologies, makes the material from quartz grains, resin and pigments on Breton lines. According to its technical data, water absorption is below 0.07%, flexural strength exceeds 35 MPa and the freeze–thaw test gives a KMf25 coefficient of 0.98, while the company offers a warranty of up to 15 years against manufacturing defects. The available thicknesses are 15, 20 and 30 mm, slabs measure 330 × 164 or 310 × 152 cm and the surface is polished or Leather. Its uses cover kitchen and bathroom countertops, islands and wall cladding, as well as interior stairs and floors. It needs no sealing; a damp or microfibre cloth is enough, while abrasives, steel wool and strong chemicals should be avoided.
