-Regulus-

Quartz Turkey
Origin: Muğla, south-west Turkey – Coante plant
Regulus belongs to Coante’s Starlight series (Essence line): a dark charcoal-grey background with dense angular grains in black and dark grey and small bright specks that sparkle in the light. It combines an urban, industrial look with the strength of quartz – for kitchen countertops, bathrooms and cladding.

Description & Features

Regulus, from the Starlight series of Coante’s Essence line, brings a discreet sparkle to a deep grey background. Over a charcoal base lies a dense scatter of angular grains and chips in black and dark grey, of various sizes, and among them small white-silver specks catch the light and sparkle as the viewing angle changes; the whole has a lively yet even texture, with no veins. Coante, set up in 2018 by the Ermaş group, produces Regulus in Muğla, Turkey, from quartz grains, resin and pigments on Breton lines; the material has a Mohs hardness of 7, abrasion resistance class A4 and water absorption below 0.07%. Its slabs, Jumbo 330 × 164 cm or Medium 310 × 152 cm, come in 15, 20 and 30 mm thicknesses, with a polished or Leather finish. It is suited to kitchen countertops and islands, bathroom vanity tops, wall cladding and interior stairs, where it gives a contemporary, urban look. A slightly damp microfibre cloth and a little neutral cleaner are enough to care for it, with no sealer or polish; hot cookware always goes on a trivet.
