-Caldera-
Description & Features
The quartz range to which Caldera belongs is produced in the Far East by three manufacturers known for their experience and for pioneering colours that imitate natural stone, on their own lines, independent of Breton technology. As its name suggests – a caldera is the large hollow left when a volcano collapses – the design has an almost volcanic intensity: dense, wavy flows run over a deep black background with brownish undertones, rising diagonally from lower left to upper right. The flows combine bright flashes of cream and light gold, strokes of steel blue-grey and darker lines, like flowing layers of rock, and cover the entire slab; the look recalls exotic dark stones of the Titanium type. Because each slab is made individually by hand, the flow differs from piece to piece and selecting the slabs in person is recommended. Despite its exotic appearance, it is looked after like any quartz surface: quartz and resin give a surface without pores that needs no sealing; the table includes typical values, as no official technical data are given. The surface is polished; sizes and thicknesses are given on request. It is ideal for islands, kitchen and bar countertops, wall cladding and bathroom vanity tops; daily care takes only a damp cloth and a neutral cleaner, while hot cookware always goes on a trivet and the slab is kept out of the sun.
Why choose Caldera
- Black background with cream-gold and blue-grey flows
- Dynamic diagonal movement across the whole slab
- Exotic stone look with the practicality of quartz
- Every slab with its own flow
Technical Specifications
| Material | Engineered quartz composite – quartz grains bound with resin; each slab shaped individually by hand on non-Breton production lines |
| Color & Pattern | Deep black background with dense, wavy diagonal flows in cream-gold and steel blue-grey |
| Hardness (Mohs) | ≈7 (typical for quartz surfaces) |
| Density (g/cm³) | ≈2.3–2.5 (typical range for quartz surfaces – not stated for this product) |
| Water Absorption (%) | Very low (typically < 0.1% for quartz surfaces – no value stated for this product) |
| Frost Resistance | Recommended for interiors; no freeze–thaw test data are published for this product and, because of the resin binder, permanent sun exposure (UV) can change the colour |
| Acid Sensitivity | High stain resistance thanks to the non-porous surface; no chemical-resistance class is published – avoid strong acids, alkalis and solvents |
| Recommended Finishes | Polished |

Export & project supply
SKARIS MARBLE supplies Caldera to stone importers, fabricators, architects and hotel projects outside Greece. From our facility in Thessaloniki we handle the whole order in-house:
- Slab selection and matching – we grade and match the slabs for colour and veining, so a large order stays uniform across the whole project.
- Cut-to-size and finishing – pieces cut, edged and finished to your drawings, numbered per room or elevation and ready to install.
- Mixed shipments – Greek marbles, granites, porous limestone (porolithos) and quartz surfaces can be combined in one order.
- Export packing – crated and labelled for sea or road freight, ex-works Thessaloniki; delivered terms quoted on request.
