Quartz Vietnam / China (Aurea Stone plants, per the EPD)
Carmen, from the Symphony by Aurea Stone line, is a tribute to the Italian Calacatta Macchia Vecchia marble: grey and warm golden veins on a white background, printed on a recycled-glass surface (RGS) rather than quartz. It cuts like quartz and is suited to kitchens, bathrooms and interior walls.

Description & Features

Inspired by Calacatta Macchia Vecchia, a precious Italian marble, Carmen is a design from the Opera Collection of the Symphony by Aurea Stone line, which according to the EPD is produced at Aurea Stone plants in Vietnam and China. On the slab, light grey and blue-grey veins cross a white background diagonally and alternate with broad bands of warm mustard gold, while fine dark lines form a rich, branching network. The material is not quartz: it is RGS (Recycled Glass Surfaces), a blend of up to 90% recycled materials such as glass with resins, free of crystalline-silica materials, which is cut and fabricated with quartz methods. The pattern is printed on one face only with Nano-Ink technology and the ink penetrates up to 1 mm below the surface, so mitred edges are recommended. The slab measures 3200 × 1600 mm, has a polished finish and bookmatch is available; the standard thickness is 20 mm, and the manufacturer also lists a 12 mm version. The NEOS protectant repels stains, backed by a lifetime anti-stain warranty and a 10-year product warranty. The manufacturer recommends it for kitchens and bathrooms, as well as for walls of large spaces such as hotel receptions; it is intended for interior use only.
