-Milano-
Description & Features
Behind Milano is one of three Far East producers who work with their own technology instead of Breton and make the slabs one by one by hand for a more natural result. The design is a gentle take on white marble with fine veining: the background is bright white and the veins, in light to mid grey, are fine and jagged, like crumpled lines, rising mainly diagonally from one corner of the slab towards the opposite one, with small offshoots; soft grey flecks are scattered around them. The contrast stays low to moderate and the look recalls white marbles of the Carrara or Venatino type, with a more restrained pattern than a bold Calacatta. The manufacturer publishes no measurements, so the table lists the typical values of quartz surfaces; like any quartz surface, it is non-porous, needs no sealing and has high stain resistance. The slab has a polished, reflective surface, while size and thickness are confirmed with the order. Its gentle pattern makes it suitable both for kitchen and bathroom countertops and for larger surfaces such as wall cladding and interior floors, as well as islands, splashbacks and furniture. In daily use a damp cloth and a neutral detergent are enough; hot cookware needs a trivet and the surface should not be permanently exposed to the sun.
Why choose Milano
- Fine, discreet Carrara-style grey veins
- Bright white background with a diagonal pattern
- Polished, reflective surface
- No sealing – high stain resistance
Technical Specifications
| Material | Engineered quartz composite – quartz grains bound with resin; each slab shaped individually by hand on non-Breton production lines |
| Color & Pattern | Bright white background with fine, jagged grey veins running diagonally and soft grey flecks |
| Hardness (Mohs) | ≈7 (typical for quartz surfaces) |
| Density (g/cm³) | ≈2.3–2.5 (typical range for quartz surfaces – not stated for this product) |
| Water Absorption (%) | Very low (typically < 0.1% for quartz surfaces – no value stated for this product) |
| Frost Resistance | Recommended for interiors; no freeze–thaw test data are published for this product and, because of the resin binder, permanent sun exposure (UV) can change the colour |
| Acid Sensitivity | High stain resistance thanks to the non-porous surface; no chemical-resistance class is published – avoid strong acids, alkalis and solvents |
| Recommended Finishes | Polished |
